Other documents

Other documents are any documents that aren't one of our specific document types, such as residence certificates, company registrations, annual reports or letters. They are uploaded through the documents endpoint which details file types and size limitations.

To upload a document as Other, set the document type to Other and autoDetect to false. Documents that auto detect can't identify are also set to Other, unless the request is set to reject auto detect failures.

Because an Other document can be about a person or a business, the name we return depends on whether the case is for a Person or an Entity.

Extracted data

These are the extracted fields of an Other document.

Name

Field	Description
Full name	The name of who the document is for. For a Person case, the person's first, middle and last names joined in that order. For an Entity case, the name of the business or charity
First name	First name of the person the document is for. Only returned for a Person case
Middle name	Middle name(s) of the person the document is for, if any. Only returned for a Person case
Last name	Last name of the person the document is for. Only returned for a Person case

Fields that are null are left out of the response. firstName, middleName and lastName are never set for an Entity case, so they are never returned for one.

If the document doesn't contain the kind of name the case expects, the full name falls back to the other name found on the document. For example, a company letter uploaded to a Person case returns the company name as the full name. First, middle and last name are then left out or empty.

On an Entity case, firstName, middleName and lastName would not be returned. As this document has no business name on it, fullName would fall back to the person's name, Amira Sofia Benali.
